Votage indicator expressed in hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes

Voltage indicator-eGFP sensor.

hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes expressing voltage indicator-eGFP.
Fluorescence of voltage indicator reproduces conventional patch clamp electrophysiology - but with
1,000-fold higher throughput

Voltage indicator (red) closely follows membrane voltage (black) measured with a patch clamp.
The AP50 measured optically is linearly related to the AP50 measured via patch clamp.

Voltage indicator allows long-term measurement

Voltage indicator shows little phototoxicity and little photobleaching, allowing continuous measurements for > 20 minutes while preserving normal electrophysiology and excellent signal amplitude.
The core of the Q-State technology is a proprietary near infrared genetically encoded voltage indicator derived from a microorganism that lives in the Dead Sea. This protein reports membrane voltage with microsecond response times and sub-millivolt precision.
